It is a matter for each housing authority to prepare a house building programme having regard to the established housing need in its functional area. The number of approved applicants on the waiting list for rehousing by Drogheda Corporation at 30 September 1980, the latest date for which information is available in my Department, was 270. Since that date 50 houses have been completed, there are 73 houses in progress and a further 175 are at planning stage.
