Vol. 327 No. 8

Written Answers. - Fossa-Killarney Sewerage Scheme.

341.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received proposals from the Kerry County Council for the provision of a sewerage scheme from Fossa to Killarney; and, if so, when the council will obtain his approval for the carrying out of this scheme in view of its urgent nature.

The question of approving proposals submitted by Kerry County Council for the Fossa Road sewerage extension must be deferred pending the provision of additional capacity at the Killarney treatment works. In this connection, I recently approved contract documents submitted for the mechanical plant and the sludge de-watering plant for the expansion of the treatment works. Tenders may now be sought to facilitate completion of the planning of the civil works.
