Vol. 327 No. 10

Written Answers. - Esker (Dublin) School.

349.

asked the Minister for Education, if, in view of the expressed wishes of the Parents' Association of St. Thomas' and St. Anne's national schools, Esker, County Dublin that a second-level community school and not a VEC college should be provided in that area, he will now agree to sanction a community school; if not, why; if he will outline the differences between a community school and a VEC college; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The new second-level school referred to by the Deputy is in replacement of the existing inadequate vocational school at Lucan.

With regard to the other matters adverted to I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 361 on 10 March 1981.
