Vol. 327 No. 10

Written Answers. - County Tipperary School.

348.

asked the Minister for Education if he will outline his Department's plans in relation to the staffing of and the proposed extension to Drangan national school, Thurles, County Tipperary.

It is my intention to extend, as a matter of urgency, the boy's national school in Drangan, County Tipperary, to provide for the amalgamation of the two existing schools there. A staff of four teachers (i.e. the number of teachers at present serving in the two schools) may be retained in the amalgamated school subject to the regulations.

Sketch plans for an extension to Drangan boys' national school which would comprise one classroom, a general purposes room and ancillary accommodation, were submitted recently by the Commissioners of Public Works and are being considered in my Department.

It is my intention that the building of this extension shall commence as soon as possible.
