asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that the telephone line of a person (details supplied) in County Dublin has been out of order because of a faulty cable; and if repairs have been carried out.

What was involved in this instance was provision of telephone service in respect of an application made in October 1980. Service was provided recently; there was no fault in the cable.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the telephone for an applicant (details supplied) in County Wicklow who has paid a deposit will be installed.

There has, regrettably, been delay in installing this telephone but it is expected that service will be provided within the next month.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when two telephone lines will be installed for a business enterprise (details supplied) in County Wicklow.

It is expected that service will be provided within the next four months or so.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the fault on the telephone of a subscriber (details supplied) in County Dublin will be rectified.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if public telephone kiosks erected during 1981 will be of a design which enables them to be used by the disabled.

The question of introducing a new standard telephone kiosk capable of being used by disabled persons is under consideration at present. In the meantime, pending a decision on this and following discussions with the Irish Wheelchair Association, it is planned to provide some specially adapted aluminium kiosks in Cork, Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Galway, Limerick and Waterford for use by disabled persons.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the acute need for public telephone kiosks in the Blanchardstown area, County Dublin; the number of telephone kiosks which will be erected in the Blanchardstown-Clonsilla area in 1981; the location of these kiosks; and the likely month in which each will be erected.

It is planned to provide kiosks at the following locations in the Blanchardstown area:—

Blakestown (2), Castleknock Park, Corduff (2), Fortlawn Avenue, Hartstown, Huntstown, Laurel Lodge, Lohunda, Sheepmoor, Whitechapel Estate.

Installation is expected to begin shortly and to be carried out between now and the end of the year according as suitable sites are agreed and as resources permit
