Vol. 328 No. 8

Written Answers. - Morehamption Road (Dublin) Site.

70.

asked the Minister for Finance if the Government still own land at Morehamption Road, Dublin which was originally earmarked for a site for the new college of art; if he is now in a position to make the land available on a leasehold basis to Dublin Corporation so that it can be converted for use as a car park, having regard to the severe difficulties experienced by residents in the area caused by on-street car parking which is a result of the intensification of business and hotel use in the area; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A site of about two acres at the junction of Morehamption Road and Bloomfield Avenue is State-owned. I have not had any approach from Dublin Corporation in regard to the possible use of the site as a public car park.
