Could the Minister say if all this money has actually been spent or if it has simply been sanctioned?
Of the £1 million originally provided, practically the entire amount has been allocated, of which about £527,000 has actually been spent.
Is the Minister in a position to indicate whether the sum of £200,000 made available from this fund for inner city schools have been allocated and spent?
As far as I am aware it has been allocated and spent.
Is that information not in the brief?
I have a rather complicated and lengthy list of works which have been carried out and which are in progress. Out of the £1 million provided practically the entire amount has been allocated, and £527,000 of that amount has been spent. As far as the Department are concerned payments are usually made in arrear of demand but if a case is made, sometimes it is paid in advance.
I suppose it would be out of the question to think the remaining £473,000 might be spent within the next three weeks?
It will be spent as required. There will not be any holdup at our end.
