Vol. 328 No. 17

Written Answers. - Entertainment Allowances.

63.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the amount of the allowance, over and above normal salary, paid to officers abroad to cover entertainment costs; and whether they are obliged to vouch for expenditure and to refund that part of the allowance which is not spent.

I would refer the Deputy to the State Directory, 1981, pages 164-170, where details of allowances payable to officers of the Department of Foreign Affairs serving abroad are published. Officers are not obliged to vouch for the expenditure of representation allowance.
