Vol. 329 No. 2

Written Answers. - County Donegal Housing Estate.

14.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware that the foundations of the Commons Hill housing estate, Killybegs, County Donegal, are sinking and that the residents are alarmed; and if he will now hold an investigation into the matter and inform the tenants of the action that will be taken by his Department.

I am not so aware. Since this was a devolved scheme any difficulties which arise in relation to the contract for the scheme are matters for settlement between the local authority, in this case Donegal County Council, and the contractor involved. However, in view of the serious implications raised by the Deputy's question I have asked Donegal County Council to submit a report in the matter. When this has been received in my Department I will communicate directly with the Deputy.
