The person concerned claimed disability benefit from 2 May 1981 and was paid from 6 May, fourth day of incapacity. Payment was made initially at the rate appropriate to a single man. An adjusting cheque in respect of the amount due for his wife up to 16 June 1981 issued on 30 June. Payment thereafter up to the date of resumption of employment issued at the maximum rate for a man and wife.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when a non-contributory old age pension will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

The investigation in this case has now been completed and the claim has been referred to the local pension committee for decision with a recommendation for payment of pension at the rate of £11.85 a week from 16 April 1981. Payment will be made provisionally pending the local pension committee's decision. If the claimant is dissatisfied with this decision he will, of course, have the right of appeal against it.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when disability benefit will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

The person concerned claimed injury benefit in respect of an accident at work on 23 April 1981. Pending inquiries regarding the nature and origin of his incapacity he was paid disability benefit on an interim basis from 27 April 1981, fourth day of incapacity, to 15 June 1981 when he was certified fit to resume work. Payment of disability benefit was made as follows:

25 May 1981 — in respect of the period from 27 April 1981 to 2 May 1981; 22 June 1981 — in respect of the period from 4 May 1981 to 12 June 1981; 24 June 1981 — in respect of the period from 13 June 1981 to 15 June 1981.

In addition, pay-related benefit was paid from 7 May 1981.

On completion of inquiries his claim for injury benefit was allowed from 23 April 1981. Payment of all injury benefit due, less the amount of disability benefit paid on an interim basis, issued on 8 July 1981.

35.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when unemployment assistance will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

The person concerned was in receipt of unemployment assistance up to 19 May 1981 when he claimed disability benefit. He was paid disability benefit from that date at the maximum appropriate rate to 10 June 1981, the date of latest certificate received. As it has been confirmed that he is still incapable of work further payment of disability benefit due to 8 July 1981 has now been made. He is not entitled to pay-related benefit.

36.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when disability benefit will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny which is owed for quite a long time.

The person concerned originally claimed disability benefit for the period from 18 May to 23 May 1981 and payment issued on 4 June 1981. A further claim for benefit in respect of an incapacity which commenced on 9 June 1981 was subsequently received and payment has been made from 12 June (fourth day of incapacity) to 11 July 1981. The question of his entitlement to pay-related benefit is being investigated and any benefit due will issue as soon as possible.
