Vol. 330 No. 3

Written Answers. - Knock (Mayo) Airport.

182.

asked the Minister for Transport the projected cost of constructing an airport at Knock, County Mayo; the projected annual nett cost at 1981 prices of running the airport; and the maximum type of passenger aircraft it is envisaged will be able to use the airport in question.

The estimated cost of construction of the Connacht regional airport is £8 million at 1980 prices. The airport will not be a State airport and the promoters will endeavour to have the airport operations break even. The airport is being designed to cater for services having a passenger capacity of up to about 120.
