asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry when it is intended to deepen the harbour at Liscannor, County Clare, so that local fishermen can bring their boats into harbour.

Cavan-Monaghan): Because of the chronic siltation that exists at Liscannor Harbour, dredging, to be effective, would have to be carried out at frequent intervals. The level of commercial fishing from the port would not warrant the expenditure that would be involved.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry when it is intended to deepen Ballyvaughan Harbour, County Clare.

Cavan-Monaghan): No proposals have been made to my Department for the deepening of Ballyvaughan Harbour and the Department have no plans in this regard.
