asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will request the Land Commission to acquire an estate (details supplied) in County Leitrim for division.

566.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if the Land Commission will acquire an estate (details supplied) in County Leitrim for division.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 565 and 566 together.

As the Land Commission are at present concentrating their attention on dividing the substantial area of lands in their possession and on completing proceedings for those properties which are in the course of acquisition, it is not proposed to take any steps towards the acquisition of the properties in question.

567.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when the Land Commission will allocate the Kane estate, Cloghan, the Keogh estate, Killynan and the Nulty estate, Balreagh, Monilea, all of which are in Mullingar, County Westmeath.

The Land Commission have already allocated the Nulty estate in its entirety. The bulk of the other two estates has also been allocated and a total of 62 hectares remains to be disposed of. It is hoped that these lands will be allotted within the next 12 months or so.
