Vol. 330 No. 13

Written Answers. - Clare Road.

567.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware of the dangerous condition of the Ennis-Kilrush road, County Clare; and if, in view of the additional heavy traffic which the road is now taking due to the construction of the Moneypoint generating station, he will make additional road funds available immediately and in 1982.

The grants already notified for 1981, which include a sum of £300,000 for improvement works on the Ennis-Kilrush road, absorb the total of the funds available for road grants in the current year.

I am aware of the need for further improvements on the Ennis-Kilrush road and I will bear this in mind when road grant allocations are being determined for 1982.
