(i) Expenditure on the Work Experience Programme, up to the end of October 1981 amounted to £1,861,000; (ii) The number of persons in the programme at the end of October 1981 was 3,032. At 1 January 1981 there were 2,171 young people on the programme and a further 5,259 entered the programme between that date and the end of October 1981.
