Proposals for the purchase and development of Hope Castle and estate by Monaghan County Council under the Special Border Area Programme are currently being examined by the Department of the Environment. Until such time as this examination has been concluded and I have been advised on the matter, I am unable to give any assurances regarding the purchase of the castle and estate.
