With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 308 and 309 together.
I assume the Deputy is referring to the premises at Oranmore previously occupied by Galway Concrete Limited now in liquidation. Prior to the appointment of the liquidator in April 1981, the IDA had been endeavouring to have the business of Galway Concrete taken over as a going concern. On the appointment of the liquidator the IDA in conjunction with the liquidator made further intensive efforts, without success, to secure a take-over that would enable the business to be resumed.
I understand that because of the failure of the efforts to have the business taken over, the liquidator, who was appointed by the High Court at the instance of the shareholders, is at present disposing of the plant and machinery. The buildings and site are, however, available for another industrial project and the IDA are endeavouring to secure such a project.
