Written Answers. - Louth Flooding Damage.

asked the Minister for Finance whether in view of the serious flooding damage which was caused by the breaching of the dykes at Bellurgan and Blackrock, on either side of Dundalk Bay and by the bursting of the embankment at Moorland, Dundalk, County Louth, he will seek aid under the EEC Regional Fund to enable the Louth County Council and Dundalk Urban Council to repair the dykes and embankment in question.

The European Regional Development Fund grant assistance towards the creation of infrastructures which contribute to the development of the region or area in which they are situated. It does not grant assistance for the repair or maintenance of infrastructure.
