Vol. 333 No. 5

Written Answers. - Sandyford (Dublin) Postal Service.

223.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason people in the Ticknock area, Sandyford, Dublin who adjoin the local post office are not receiving a daily postal service; and if this is due to insufficient personnel.

The Ticknock/Sandyford area normally receives a daily delivery service, Monday to Friday. However, on Monday, 22 March, the two regular postmen were absent and while one delivery route was performed in full by an experienced substitute, it was necessary to employ an inexperienced man on the other and a few areas received no deliveries on that day. Normal delivery services resumed the following day. Any inconvenience caused by the failure, which was an unusual occurence, is regretted.
