Vol. 333 No. 6

Written Answers. - Hospital Accommodation.

303.

asked the Minister for Health the up-to-date position in relation to the provision of the maternity unit at the County Hospital, Nenagh, County Tipperary.

Approval for the development of the maternity unit at the County Hospital, Nenagh, was given in October 1980. A project team, representative of the Department of Health and the health board was then established to plan the development of the unit. Stage I of the planning process has been completed and the planning brief is currently under examination in the Department.

There is no provision in the health capital programme for 1982 published by the previous Government which would enable the project to proceed to the next stage of planning.
