asked the Minister for Agriculture if the Land Commission will provide a dwelling house at Clifden, County Galway for a person (details supplied) in County Galway who was a resident of Inishturbot Island.

The person in question was allocated a new house in Clifden by the Galway County Council. The Land Commission were examining the feasibility of providing him with substantial assistance towards the purchase of this house, but after a short period he vacated it. Subsequently the Land Commission offered to provide him with a new house on a site of two acres but he declined this offer. The Land Commission are not at present in a position to make him an alternative offer.
