asked the Minister for the Environment the amount of money allocated to each of the 13 western counties under EEC Regulation 1920/80 for western development under the following headings: (a) county roads; and (b) access roads to farms.

The general road grant allocations for 1982 to the western counties include sums specifically to finance a programme of works on county roads used mainly for agriculture and forestry. These sums which are set out at column 2 of the table below are designed to attract £0.8 million recoupment from the EEC under the Western Package.
Similarly, the allocations under the Local Improvement Scheme for 1982 include sums specifically to finance a programme of works on farm roads. These sums, which are set out in column 3 of the table below, are designed to attract £1.01 million recoupment from the EEC.
