Vol. 334 No. 4

Written Answers. - County Carlow Estate.

597.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason for the delay by the Land Commission in acquiring an estate, as agreed, from a person (details supplied) in County Carlow which has been in the hands of the Commission since 4 March, 1981.

Proceedings for the compulsory acquisition of the property were instituted in March 1981 following its sale by public auction in three separate lots. The Land Commission subsequently granted consent to the sale of two of these lots but continued the proceedings in respect of the balance of the lands comprising 78 acres. The question of the price to be paid for this area is at present being discussed with the owner.
