Vol. 334 No. 4

Written Answers. - South-West Cork Industrial Development.

886.

asked the Minister for Industry and Energy the plans for industrial development in each of the towns and villages of Cork South/West.

I am informed that the Industrial Development Authority have in recent years secured a number of new large overseas industries for the South West Cork area. These projects include Elanco and Moygara Ltd. in Kinsale, CIT Alcatel/Telectron and High Reliability Cable in Bandon and Spiralux in Skibbereen.

These projects between them have the potential to employ over 1,300 persons at full production. Many of these jobs have yet to come on stream.

The IDA also have over 70 acres of land and a total of 68,000 sq. ft. of factory space available in the South West area for industrial development.

The IDA will continue to promote Cork South-West for suitable industrial projects.
