Vol. 334 No. 5

Written Answers. - Dublin Second Level School.

684.

asked the Minister for Education if he will confirm that the proposed second level school for Neilstown, Dublin will be ready to open as promised on 1 September 1983; when work will commence; the stage that planning is now at; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Architectural planning of the school is at an advanced stage and is preceeding on the basis that construction will be commenced in early autumn 1982. It is intended that the school should open in September 1983.

685.

Mr. De Rossa

asked the Minister for Education if he intends to use the legislation on new university structure to introduce democratic governing bodies and committees in these colleges.

Pending the introduction of relevant legislation, I do not consider it appropriate to make a statement in regard to the matter raised in the question from the Deputy.
