Vol. 334 No. 5

Written Answers. - NCEA Student Vacancy.

686.

Mr. De Rossa

asked the Minister for Education if it is his intention to appoint a representative from the Union of Students in Ireland to the vacant student position on the National Council for Educational Awards.

Representation of the National Council for Educational Awards is governed by the NCEA Act, 1979, which does not confer any right of representation on the USI. The reference in section 5 (1) (g) of that Act is to persons who "are students at any institution to which this Act applies".
