Vol. 334 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

193.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a new house grant was issued in respect of a house built by a person (details supplied) in County Waterford or if the grant was paid to a contractor (details supplied) in County Tipperary; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application from either of the persons named in respect of the house in question.

194.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a reconstruction grant to a person (details supplied) in County Meath.

Under the Housing Regulations, 1980 (as amended), the latest date for completion of works and the receipt in the Department of claims for payment was 30 June 1981. As this statutory requirement was not complied with in this case a grant cannot be paid.

199.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will make a statement on the payment of a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford in respect of a house he built at Springmount, Dungarvan, County Waterford.

The person named applied for a new house grant under the old scheme but his application was rejected, as his house was not completed by 31 December 1978. He subsequently applied for the £1,000 grant, but this application was also rejected as the foundations of the house were poured prior to 26 May 1977.
