Vol. 336 No. 3

Written Answers. - Imported Potatoes.

830.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason Cyprus potatoes are still being allowed to be imported into this country as they are depressing the price of Irish potatoes; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Cyprus potatoes are not, in fact, being allowed to be imported at present. The import of such potatoes is controlled by licence and in view of the satisfactory market supply situation here no licences have been granted so far this year.
