Vol. 336 No. 3

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

835.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Raheny, Dublin 5; and if he is aware that the applicant is ill and has been waiting for over two years for service.

I am aware of the circumstances. A survey is being carried out to ascertain when service can be provided for the person named. The applicant will be advised when the survey is completed.

836.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12; and the reason for the delay in providing service.

It has not been possible to provide service for the person named, who applied in December 1979, so far because of the volume of engineering work on hands and awaiting attention in the 01 area. Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary cabling can be completed for about a year.
