I have no information concerning the number of nurses who have recently completed their final examinations and are unable to obtain employment in the nursing services in this country.
There is traditionally a high degree of mobility within the nursing profession and many newly qualified nurses of their own volition seek employment outside the country. On average, Bord Altranais receives 600 applications each year from nurses who wish to have certificates of registration for the purpose of seeking employment in other countries. I have no reason to believe that pattern will not continue.
