asked the Minister for Justice the average number of gardaí stationed in Shandon, McCurtain St., St. Luke's, Barrack St., Mallow Rd., Bridewell, Blarney, Glanmire and Union Quay Garda Stations, Cork, in each of the last ten years; and the number of squad cars attached to each of these stations in each of the last ten years.

Records are not maintained in such a way as to provide particulars of the average number of gardaí serving at particular stations in any year and compilation of the information would involve a disproportionate amount of Garda time. Particulars of the number of gardaí of all ranks assigned to the stations mentioned in the question on 31 December in each of the last ten years and of the number of official cars allocated to these centres on the same dates are, however, available and are given in the following statement:
