Vol. 340 No. 3

Written Answers. - Old Age Pension Applicant.

236.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when a decision will be made on a claim for a non-contributory old age pension at the maximum rate for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and when the pension will be paid at an alternative venue.

The person concerned has been awarded widow's non-contributory pension at the maximum rate, appropriate to a widow under 66 years with no qualified children, with effect from 22 October 1982. She has been requested to return the reduced rate pension order book in her possession and as soon as this is done a book at maximum rate will be issued to the post office specified, where she wishes to have her pension paid in future.

The arrears due to the claimant for the period from 22 October 1982 to the date from which the first order in the new book is payable will be sent direct to her by payable order.
