Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

440.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a sheep subsidy for 1979 will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

The person named was paid sheep headage grants for 1979, 1980 and 1981 on 26 October 1979, 23 September 1980 and 16 December 1981 and the payable orders were cashed on 8 November 1979, 16 October 1980 and 21 January 1981, respectively.

441.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange to pay a suckling grant to a person (details supplied) in Mallow, County Cork.

Further investigation is necessary before a decision can be made on whether or not a suckler cow premium should be paid in this case.

442.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if his Department will pay a 1981 headage grant to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

The person named was paid his 1981 EEC suckler cow premium on 30 April 1982 and his cattle headage grant on 14 May 1982.

443.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if his Department will pay a headage grant to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

It was a condition of the 1980 Cattle Headage Scheme that an applicant's off-farm earnings for the tax year ended 5 April 1981 must not exceed £4,750.

As the person named has an off-farm occupation, his eligibility for inclusion in the scheme cannot be determined until he furnishes particulars of his earnings for that year as requested by the Department.

444.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if his Department will pay a headage grant to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

The person named was paid his 1981 cattle headage grant under the Disadvantaged Areas Schemes on 31 December 1981. As he informed the Department on 31 May 1982, however, that he had mislaid the payable order, a replacement payment order for the amount due was issued to him on 22 June 1982.

445.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if his Department will arrange to pay a 1981 suckler grant to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

It is a condition of the EEC Suckler Cow Premium Scheme that an applicant must earn at least 50 per cent of his income on-farm. As the person named had an off-farm income of £4,557 in the tax year ended 5 April 1981 and as he stated he had no on-farm income he was, therefore, deemed ineligible for payment of premium.
