Vol. 337 No. 7

Written Answers. - Birth Certificates.

470.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware of long delays in the processing of birth certificates and of the totally inadequate facilities for the public and staff at the Pearse Street office, Dublin; and the action he intends to take in the matter.

I am aware that delays have occurred in the issue of birth, marriage and death certificates from the office of the superintendent registrar at Pearse Street, Dublin. I understand that these delays have now been brought under control and that all certificates are issued within a few days of receipt of the application.

Arrangements have been made to move the office to new improved premises. This will remove many of the problems which the staff and the public meet in the existing premises. The transfer is expected to take place within the next few months.
