Vol. 337 No. 9

Written Answers. - Irish Club in London.

489.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if the Government will make sufficient finance available to prevent the pending closure of the Irish Club in London; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

As the Deputy may be aware, Government assistance to Irish organisations in Britain has related only to their welfare work specifically and the Irish Club in London could not be considered to be such an organisation.

The Embassy in London is in close touch with the club and is not aware of any intention on its part to close.
