Vol. 337 No. 10

Written Answers. - Housing Grant Inspectors.

520.

asked the Minister for the Environment the times during which the public can confer with his Department's housing grant inspectors who are permanently headquartered in his Department's Galway office.

The housing grants schemes are administered by the Housing Grants Section of my Department in O'Connell Bridge House, Dublin 2. All inquiries and correspondence concerning these grants should be directed to that address. It is the function of the Department's inspectors to carry out inspections of houses in respect of which applications are received. Therefore, those inspectors who are headquartered in the Department's Galway office are only present for such short periods of time as are necessary for administrative purposes, which does not permit them to provide a regular consulting service for members of the public.
