Vol. 337 No. 11

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

533.

asked the Minister for the Environment whether a house improvement grant is being paid to a person (details supplied) in Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A grant cannot be allowed in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the works had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. The applicant was so informed on 7 April 1982.

534.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a person (details supplied) is entitled to a £4,000 new house grant; when the first £1,000 will be paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Both the £1,000 new house grant and the £3,000 mortgage subsidy have been approved in this case. The £1,000 grant has been paid and payment of the first instalment of the mortgage subsidy will be made when the applicant submits the relevant claim form, if in order.

535.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

asked the Minister for the Environment when he will pay a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The balance of the grant cannot be paid in this case because some of the material used is not acceptable for grant purposes. The applicant was informed accordingly but, as required under the Housing Regulations, failed to notify the Department on or before 30 June 1981 that the necessary remedial works had been carried out.
