Vol. 338 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Rochfortbridge School.

270.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason the building contractor who was allocated the tender for Rochfortbridge boys' national school is not proceeding with the work; if he is aware that teachers and children have to manage under primitive conditions; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The contractor engaged to erect an extension to Rochfortbridge boys' national school experienced difficulty with the foundations. I understand that he has overcome those difficulties and I expect the works to proceed without further interruption.

I am aware of the urgent need for the additional accommodation and every effort will be made to ensure satisfactory completion of the contract at the earliest possible date.
