Vol. 338 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Bantry (Cork) Industrial Jobs.

119.

asked the Minister for Industry and Energy his plans for the provision of additional industrial jobs at Bantry, County Cork.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that it recently completed construction in Bantry of a 24,000 sq. ft. advance factory and a cluster of four small factories of 3,000 sq. ft. each. These factories in addition to the 30,000 sq. ft. former Rowa factory in Bantry are being promoted by the IDA for suitable industries. The IDA also has 7.6 acres of land available for industrial development in Bantry.

I would add that net manufacturing employment in the Bantry town Grouping, in the IDA's industrial plan 1978-82, has risen by over 100 in the past 4 years.
