Vol. 339 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Grant Payments.

17.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for the immediate payment of a reconstruction grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

On receipt of notification of completion of work an inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the sewerage grant, if in order.

Grants in respect of the building of a bathroom and a bedroom could not be allowed in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the work had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. Neither could grants in respect of the provision of a water supply and the building of a chimney be allowed as the Department's inspector reported that these facilities were already in existence in the house.

18.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position in regard to a £1,000 grant and mortgage subsidy application from a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a new house grant or mortgage subsidy from the person named.

19.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will pay a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford whose application was refused because of fire regulations but whose work can be remedied to comply with the regulations.

An inspection with a view to the payment of a grant in this case will be carried out as soon as possible.

20.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for the immediate payment of a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

This grant will be paid shortly.

21.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for the immediate payment of a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The grant in this case will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and all other conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with.
