Written Answers. - Tallaght (Dublin) National School Costs.

283.

asked the Minister for Education if she has received a letter from the Parish Priest of St. Mary's parish, Tallaght, County Dublin, concerning the increased costs of heating, lighting, cleaning, etc. for schools in the Tallaght area; and if she intends to approve a sufficient increase in the grants to meet these additional costs.

The letter to which the Deputy refers has been received. In recognition of the increased running costs of national schools the rate of capitation grant has been increased by £2 in 1983. This rate of grant is of general application and it is not possible to make additional money available to individual schools.
