Vol. 340 No. 3

Written Answers. - Clondalkin (Dublin) Post Office Facilities.

218.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will provide extra stamp machines in the post office in Clondalkin, County Dublin.

Machines for vending stamps are normally provided outside all main Departmentally staffed post offices, i.e. all head and district post offices, branch post offices and the busier district delivery offices in Dublin.

Clondalkin post office is a sub-office and there are no stamp vending machines outside it. It is not considered that provision of such machines exceptionally is warranted in this case. Apart from the sub-post office facilities there are two shops within about 300 yards of the post office which are licensed to sell stamps to the public and these arrangements should adequately facilitate persons wishing to purchase postage stamps.

219.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will provide extra post office boxes on Boot/Commons Road, Clondalkin, County Dublin.

The answer is no. The existing letterbox at Boot Road is adequate to meet the posting needs of the area.
