As the Deputy is no doubt aware, the question of establishing a Shannon Estuarial Authority exercising control over the entire waters of the estuary has been under consideration for a number of years. I propose to discuss this matter with the harbour authorities concerned in the near future and, pending the outcome of those discussions and a decision on the estuarial authority, I am not prepared to consider granting any extension of the jurisdiction of the Kilrush harbour authority.
