A provision of £2 million was made last year for the purposes of making recoupments to local authorities in respect of abnormal expenditure incurred by them arising from blizzard conditions in January 1982.
£39,177 was paid to Waterford County Council in respect of this expenditure. This amount, together with the payments made to other road authorities in 1982, absorbed the total provision of £2 million which was made available.
