Vol. 340 No. 5

Written Answers. - Vat Refund.

346.

asked the Minister for Finance when a VAT refund will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford who is a sub-contractor.

Refunds to the value of £2,230.10 due to the person concerned for taxable periods in the years 1979 to 1981 inclusive are being set against unpaid value-added tax and income tax liabilities.

Further claims aggregating £2,617.04 for the taxable periods March-April to September-October 1982 inclusive are under inquiry with the inspector of taxes who is awaiting production of the supporting documents requested in his letter of 1 December 1982. As soon as the inspector's certification is received, repayment of the amount allowable after the necessary set-off against residual income tax liability will be made.

Question No. 347 withdrawn.
