A house improvement grant of £140 was paid to the person named on 9 June 1977. There is no record in the Department of any subsequent application in this case.

Under the Housing Regulations 1980 (as amended), the latest date for completion of the work and the receipt in the Department of a claim for payment of the grant was 30 June 1981.
As these conditions were not complied with in this case, the balance of the grant cannot be paid.

A house improvement grant cannot be paid in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the relevant scheme, a claim for payment of the grant was not received in the Department on or before 31 January 1980.
