Vol. 341 No. 2

Written Answers . - Mortgage Subsidy Payments .

525.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will expedite the payment of a £3,000 loan subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon; and the reason for the delay.

: The delay in this case arises from the failure of the applicant to submit the mortgage subsidy claim form completed and certified by the lending agency. The first instalment of the subsidy will be paid as soon as possible after the receipt of a completed and certified claim form.

526.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a person (details supplied) in County Galway qualifies for a mortgage subsidy; and if he will confirm the date of his mortgage deeds.

: On the basis of information submitted by this applicant that the mortgage deed was executed in August 1981 a provisional approval to the mortgage subsidy issued to him. However, it has now been established that the mortgage deed was in fact executed on 4 March 1981 and consequently this applicant does not qualify for the subsidy which is payable only in respect of mortgages where the deeds were executed on or after 10 April 1981.
