: A grant under the current scheme cannot be allowed in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the work had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. The applicant has been so informed.

A grant under the Department's former scheme of house improvement grants was approved on 8 December 1979 for the person named. Under the Housing Regulations 1980, (as amended), the latest date for the completion of work and receipt in the Department of a claim for payment of the grant was 30 June 1981. As this requirement was not complied with the grant cannot be paid.
