Vol. 341 No. 6

Written Answers . - Oil Prices .

1116.

andMr. Molony asked the Minister for Agriculture the annual cost to the agricultural industry of the differential in the pretax price of oil in Ireland, as compared with the average in all EEC countries.

: Estimates compiled by my Department indicate that the current annual usage of fuel oil in on-farm operations is in the region of 50 million gallons but if the food processing sector and other related industries are included, the figure would be in excess of 100 million gallons. Official information on oil prices throughout the EEC that would be necessary to determine the differential requested is not available in my Department.
