Vol. 341 No. 9

Written Answers . - Barley Statistics .

912.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the amount of Irish barley his Department, as the Irish intervention agency, exported to countries outside the EEC in the period August 1982 to 20 April 1983; the average price at which the barley was bought; the average price at which it was sold; and the amount of export restitution paid in Irish punts.

: The quantity of barley from Irish intervention stocks exported to countries outside the European Community in the period August 1982 to 20 April 1983 was 15,500 tonnes. The average price at which the barley was bought into intervention was £127.44 per tonne. The price at which this barley was sold was determined following the submission of competitive tenders and it would be inappropriate for me to disclose information as to the prices paid by the successful bidders. The average export refund payable per tonne is £12.50.

Question No. 913 withdrawn.
